Coming one day after his State of the Union address, President Obama kicked off his reelection campaign Thursday with a visit to a domestic production facility that represents what the President believes will be the future of the United States’ workforce.
With the exception of Bill Clinton in 1996, Arizona has voted for the Republican candidate consistently since 1952. The President’s choice to visit Arizona one day after the State of the Union address, the unofficial start of 2012 campaign, is a taken as a sign that the President’s advisors view the political chess board as changing. A younger demographic combined with traditionally democratic voters in the Latino community now place Arizona in the “toss up” category for 2012.
