Description:

New Year's Parade around the West-end went through Charing Cross Road and ended in Rupert Street. There was a replica of the Wishing Tree on the two-mile long parade route.

The two-mile long parade had a with lucky wishing bean bags being thrown at a replica of The Wishing Tree.
The ritual takes place near the temple of Lam Tsuen, a small village in New Territories, whereby people make wishes, tie them to an orange and cast them into the branches of The Wishing Tree. The belief states your wishes will come true if they remain in the branches of The Wishing Tree.
