In the bankruptcy proceedings of drugstores operated by Anton Schlecker the creditors put an ultimatum to the insolvency administrator, submit a satisfactory agreement with a potential buyer within next week.

Anton Schlecker was operating more than 14,000 drugstores in 12 European countries (scored 2008).
On 23 January 2012 he presented due to inability to pay at the District Court of Ulm an applicant for insolvency.

On 29 February 2012 announced the insolvency administrator, Arndt Geiwitz, that Schlecker will close every other branch at Germany, the job cuts would be affected to some 11,500 people in the Schlecker stores.

On Friday the 25th May 2012, took place the creditors' meeting. There are two potentially investors, one of them Nicolas Berggruen, who bourght the insolvent Karstadt warehouses yet. According to media reports, the creditors are not satisfied with the offers and request until next Friday a contract acceptable to them. Otherwise, threatens the sell-out and the dismissal for the remaining 14,300 employees.

Schlecker was notorious for poor working conditions and made himself an enemy of the unions. Many customers are therefore avoided the markets on principle.
