Protests during US president Barack Obama's visit to London. Demonstrators representing various groups protested outside 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace. London, UK. 24th May 2011
Various different groups protested today outside 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, where Barack and Michelle Obama were expected to attend engagements during their state visit to London. Muslim protesters denounced Obama, and the 'Save Shaker Aamer Campaign' demanded the release of Shaker Aamer, the last Londoner in Guantanamo, and the closure of the notorious prison. Many anti-war protesters were also present, including Iraquis, Syrians, Lybians, Palestinians.
